When purchasing something like organic bedding, you want to take care of it as best as you can.  Not only are you buying something that’s environmentally sound, but you’re making an investment in something that will last for years.  Here are some easy-to-remember facts when it comes to cleaning organic sheets:

1. If you can, hand wash organic sheets.  This can be done either in a bathtub or a larger basin.

2. If you must use a washing machine, set it to a gentle cycle.

3. Whether you’re hand washing or using a machine, it would be best to use scent-free, organic detergent.  This is available in most stores.

4. Hang dry your sheets as the colors will not fade so rapidly, as opposed to putting them through the dryer every time you wash them.

Sleeping is something we must all do every night. Well most of us anyway. Vampires don’t get to sleep during the night, but humans do. That is why we must make sure we create the most comfortable beds possible for ourselves.

One way to do this is to invest in an organic sheet. The sheets are made from all-natural materials and are non-toxic. In addition to being manufactured without chemicals, they are amazingly comfortable. Most people who use organic sheets say they have never slept better!

My Absolute Favorite Thing

March 13, 2009 posted by Comfy_sheets

bamboobathrobes-bambooandorganiclinens.jpgMy favorite thing to do when I get home from work is to take a hot bubble bath. As soon as I walk in the door, I begin running the bath water. The next thing I do is pick out the bubble bath I will use that day. After adding a liberal amount of suds, I slip into the warm water and open my favorite book.

I usually read for a good while before I get out. I hate being cold, so before I get into the tub I put my bamboo bath robe into the dryer to warm it up. Bamboo bath robes are so comfortable. They are also natural and don’t contain any toxic chemicals.

Eco-friendly products

We all have to do our part to save our planet. One big way to do that is to choose eco-friendly products. We also have to make sure that we do not waste anything and try to recycle whatever we can.

It is a good thing, then that many companies have started going green. The thing is though, even though a product is labeled as green, eco friendly, or environmentally friendly, you can never be sure if it is the real thing. One way to make sure that a product is eco friendly is to look at the components, whether they are made of chemicals or naturally occurring substances.

Softness Against Your Skin

November 14, 2008 posted by Comfy_sheets

Bamboo-Sheet-SetI had never heard of bamboo fabric until recently. It makes me happy that so many manufacturers are coming up with all-natural products like bamboo linens and towels. These products are good for our bodies and the environment as well as being high-quality.

A couple months ago I purchased my first set of bamboo sheets, and they are softer than almost any other sheet I have encountered. I actually look forward to going to bed every night in order to feel the silky sheets against my freshly-showered skin. I like my new sheets so much that I bought another set in a different color. They are also quite affordable and easy to find.

Is Your Skin A Toxic Mess?

The skin is the largest organ of the body and most people don’t realize that what they use on their skin is absorbed into the body. The type of moisturizing lotion, laundry detergent and make up you use can all negatively impact your body assuming they’re not all-natural products. Next time you get out of the shower and dry off you should take a minute to think about the towel you’re using.

First of all, did you launder the towel using a grocery-store brand of detergent? Next, has the fabric of the towel been treated with chemicals? If your answer is yes, then you’re making a bad decision for your body. Next time launder your towels in perfume and dye-free detergent and dry off with a bamboo towel. This way you will be sure to keep your skin chemical free.

Organic bath robes

organic-bath-robesOrganic fabric is all the rage now. This kind of fabric is ideal for people who don’t want any part of the chemicals and pesticides used to grow the raw materials. It is also suited for people with sensitive or delicate skin.

This is one reason a lot of luxury hotels have made the switch to organic bath robes. They market these robes as their way of pledging support to the environment. The robes are also soft, comfortable, and safe for their guests who have sensitive skin.
